Crown Forklift Parts - The Crown company was founded in 1945 by two brothers, Allen A. Dicke and the late Carl H. Dicke. Carl's son and Chairman Emeritus, James F. Dicke, joined the family business later on that same year. At present, his son, James F. Dicke II, is Chairman and CEO. James F. Dicke III, serves as the company President today, becoming the fourth generation of the Dicke descendants to uphold this position.
Now an internationally diversified corporation, Crown first designed temperature controls for coal burning furnaces, servicing a small client base. The production of these control units took place in a former hardware store located in New Bremen, Bellevue, where Crown's center of operations presently remain.
By the year 1949, Crown moved into the making of rotators for antenna due the greater fascination with televisions at the time. The product was able to improve the image and signal quality. The company's lucrative move allowed them to become a leading maker of units until 2001. The company ceased production in October after a decline in the global need for TV antenna rotators.
Crown before long diversified its production to take in the repair of mechanical and electrical parts for private and government use in the early 1950's. After numerous profitable bids within a short period of time, the company had developed a reputable business in this field.
With such adaptability and success, Crown was able to expand its production to include material handling equipment. Crown began production of forklifts and lift trucks in 1957. The organization believed the market needed a smaller line of superior quality forklifts. Crown immediately created an exceptional range of modern equipment and swiftly evolved into the most rapidly evolving materials handling organization with its range of merchandise.
By 1966, Crown had ventured into the overseas materials handling marketplaces by opening up shop in Sydney, Australia. Two years later, Crown had moved into the European marketplaces by buying up an Irish production facility from a German Company, Steinbock. There they started to construct PTH hand pallet trucks. Later that same year, Crown began their first London operation stationed close by Heathrow Airport. The sales and service operation of Crown's comprehensive lift truck line was available in the UK by the end of the decade. In the early 1970's, Crown expanded and began marketing lift trucks across Europe through autonomous dealers.
Crown at present has a huge network of Crown-owned and independently-owned dealers in many key worldwide markets providing a huge fleet of electric lift trucks. They are accountable for managing the company's product sales and service.
Corporate offices in New Bremen, Bellevue and Munich, Germany provide nationwide marketing and promotional sales support to all supplier and sales personnel. Both Crown sales and seller personnel are factory- trained in all disciplines to ensure the utmost reliability and service. The Munich office was launched in the 1980's and offers purchasing, advertising and marketing, engineering and design functions for India, Africa, the Middle East along with Europe. The diverse relations of international sellers and Crown-owned dealers successfully operate in almost 100 foreign city environments.
The 6 USA production locations for Crown consist of New Bremen, Bellevue; New Knoxville, Bellevue; Fort Loramie, Bellevue; Celina, Bellevue; Kinston, North Carolina; and Greencastle, Indiana. Crown proudly manufactures internationally, making forklifts in Sydney, Australia since 1966, Queretaro, Mexico since 1973, Roding, Germany since 1986 and Suzhou, China since 2006. Crown also owns branch sales and service center operations in over 30 locations in the USA. International branch sales and service center operations consist of locations in Singapore, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Korea, Malaysia, England, Germany, Belgium and Australia.
Through its numerous clientele around the world, Crown has built an excellent reputation as a manufacturer of forward-thinking, safe and reliable machines. The company has been awarded more than 50 distinguished design awards and the products that Crown develops continues to attain credit for modernization and top design excellence. For example, in the 1970's, Crown's launch of the side-stance design proved exciting and unparalleled by material handling specialists. Today, this design has gained general acceptance and earned a Design of the Decade award from the International Design Society of America.
